Visceral and Neural Manipulation
Visceral Manipulation
Visceral manipulation is a gentle manual therapy that improves the mobility, motility, and vitality of the organs.
Who can benefit from visceral manipulation? Anyone and everyone!
Specific diagnoses that benefit from visceral manipulation:
Chronic constipation
Bowel pain
IBS/Crohn’s
Gastritis/gastroparesis
Hormonal imbalances
Bladder pain/Interstitial Cystitis
Abdominal pain
Endometriosis
Diastasis rectus abdominus
Spine pain (Neck and Back)
Shoulder pain
Hip/groin pain
Infertility
Sliding hiatal hernias/Acid reflux
Surgical interventions with scar tissue and adhesions in the abdominal, lumbar, and pelvic regions
Poor sleep quality
MVAs
Chronic headaches/migraines
The goal of visceral manipulation is to improve the organs ability to move and compensate for it’s given structure and situation.
Neural Manipulation
Neural manipulation is a gentle manual therapy of the nervous system that makes real changes to the mobility and function of the fascial layers of the central and peripheral nerves.
The benefits of neural manipulation are complimentary to visceral manipulation and typically both visceral and neural manipulation are used concurrently to affect your body as a whole.
Diagnoses that benefit from neural manipulation:
Neural tension symptoms (numbness, tingling, loss of arm and leg mobility, decreased strength due to neural tension, nerve pain)
Headaches
Neck and back pain
Pudendal nerve pain
Abdominal neural pain
Poor posture and poor postural development in children and toddlers
