Prenatal Physical Therapy

Pregnancy is both a wonderful and sometimes challenging season of life. It is very common to have physical discomfort during pregnancy, but this should not limit you from living your life. Physical therapy can improve your symptoms and quality of life for the duration of your pregnancy!

Common pregnancy related symptoms that can benefit from physical therapy include:

  • Low back pain

  • Pelvic girdle pain (pain in the sacrum or pubic regions)

  • Abdominal (round ligament) pain

  • Groin pain

  • Hip pain (sciatica)

  • Leg pain

  • Upper back pain

  • Rib pain

  • Headaches/migraines

  • Weakness

  • Decreased mobility with walking, rising from chairs, rolling over in bed

  • Stress urinary incontinence

  • Pain with intercourse

  • Increased pelvic floor tension/discomfort

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Pelvic varicosities/pressure

  • Constipation

My goal is to help you understand the cause of these symptoms, improve your mobility, and give you the resources and education you need to be independent in your self-care during your pregnancy.
