Torticollis/Plagiocephaly
Torticollis refers to sidebending and rotation of your infants neck and head into one direction. This causes your infant to have restrictions in motion and strength on one side of the neck and body.
Plagiocephaly refers to a flattening of the back of the head, typically as a result of torticollis. This can cause long-term cosmetic changes and is sometimes addressed with a specialized helmet along with skilled physical therapy and chiropractic care.
Infants with either of these diagnoses often benefit from neural manipulation to the cranium and spine, visceral motility, and neural reeducation through holds and stretches. The sooner your treatment starts the faster your infant will recover!
You can start treatment for torticollis and plagiocephaly as soon as you notice a directional preference and you will be given exercises to start at home.
Your infant’s progress is highly dependent on how regularly you perform your prescribed exercises.
Special note: All pediatric sessions must have a parent or guardian present.
