Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on and valuable skillset that physical therapists apply to address movement limitations by using gentle techniques to directly treat the tissues of the body.

Common manual therapies include:

  • Soft Tissue Mobilization

  • Myofascial Release

  • Joint Mobilization: Direct or Muscle Energy Techniques

  • Visceral Manipulation

  • Functional Dry Needling

  • Cupping

  • Manual Lymph Drainage

The goal of manual therapy is to enact a positive change on the tissues via mechanical, chemical, and neurological changes to allow for improved pain free mobility with functional activities.
