Nerve Pain and Injuries

Injuries to peripheral nerves can often present with multiple symptoms and vary in severity and cause.

Causes of nerve injury often include impingement, irritation, direct insult, and stretch/strain.

Symptoms of nerve injury include:

  • Numbness

  • Burning

  • Tingling

  • Loss of sensation along a certain region with light touch

  • Loss of muscle strength

Severe loss of sensation and strength should be addressed initially by your primary care physician. Physical therapy can help with your neurological symptoms and address any loss of strength or pain with neuromuscular reeducation and manual therapy.
