Coccyx (Tail Bone) Pain
Pain around the tailbone often starts with a fall on the tailbone but can also occurs during child delivery, excessive sitting, chronic constipation, and an overactive pelvic floor.
This pain will often show up when you’re sitting and is worse with firmer surfaces and longer duration of sitting. Coccyx pain can progress to pain with standing, standing from sitting, pain with bowel movements, and exercising.
It is important to have coccyx pain addressed with physical therapy to treat the pelvic, visceral (organ mobility), hip, and back contributions.
